I have practiced in the areas of: Public Employee Pensions, Employment Discrimination, Education Law, Domestic Relations, Criminal Law, Juvenile Law, and Civil and Criminal Appeals.
For 18 years, I have represented the retired policemen and firemen from Highland Park and have litigated several complex cases to protect their benefits. For example, I represented the retirees in a class action and obtained a directed verdict for $2,600,000.00. The damages represented accrued pension benefits denied to the retirees when the City transferred them to a new pension plan. The City appealed and the parties settled for $4,400,000.00, structured over 10 years.
I have represented appellants in over 400 criminal appeals.

Two years after I graduated from law school, I represented two foster children against the State of Tennessee for negligently placing the children in the home of a pedophile. After I filed a motion for summary disposition, the State settled the case for the largest monetary award ever obtained against the State of Tennessee.
